Morton,
Leigh Raymond
(November 1, 1946 – March 4, 2019)
It is with great sadness that the family of Leigh Morton shares news of his death on March 4, 2019 at home in Almonte, Ontario, after a brief and very difficult illness. Leigh is dearly missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Sherry Thomson-Morton, and his beloved son, Oleg Nicholas Morton (Quinn). He is survived by his dear brother Anthony Morton (Cynthia), niece Catherine and nephew Alexander. Extended family members, including cousins Janet, Bill, Judy and David Morton in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Sherry’s family and many close friends, all share in the family’s grief. Leigh was an avid tennis player and known for his wicked Morton serve. His other passions included photography, his vast collection of music and work with computers. He enjoyed sharing good wine and food with his friends. Over his life, he had many varied working experiences, and he was very proud of his achievements in the restaurant industry. His family was most important to him, and he was devoted to his son Nicholas, and to supporting Nicholas’s dreams. Leigh’s greatest desire was to see Nicholas owning an Edsel automobile. To this end, Leigh asked that any donations made in his memory go towards a fund for an Edsel for Nicholas. Donation information is available from LRM.EDSEL@gmail.com. The open house Celebration of Life for Leigh will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 12:00 to 3:30pm at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, 9280 Airport Road, Mount Hope, Ontario.
