It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of John “Garth” Brown which occurred on March 24, 2019, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on November 15, 1972 he was the son of John and Wanda (Hoey) Brown.
As a young man he was employed as a lobster fisherman giving him a love of our Bay. In later years he was employed at the Saint John Library and the Quaco Museum & Library in St Martins, where he got his love for history and antiques. He enjoyed the outdoors and sports. His passion was Wheelchair Basketball. He attended many tournaments including the Canada Summer Games 1995 in Alberta. Garth had many interests one of which was baking and cooking. He secretly played in the kitchen like a chef. He could be found in the backyard smoking brisket on his jumbo smoker. He enjoyed the summer most when he could be seen out and about on his scooter with Deuce.
Besides his parents he is survived by his sister Janice Parsons (Tom) of Garnett Settlement, his brother Travis of St. Martins, his special aunt Phyllis, his best friend forever Lydia (Baby Doll), and his canine companion Deuce along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Everett and Mildred Brown and his maternal grandparents Fred and Muriel Hoey and his uncle Lester. Also his canine friend King.
A special thank you to the nurses and Staff of 3DS and 4CN for years of dedicated service and the many friendships he made.
