Joan TEGHTMEYER nee Leslie 1944 2019

Obituary of Joan TEGHTMEYER (nee Leslie)
Joan, beloved wife of Melvin Teghtmeyer, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the age of 75 years.
Joan was a relentless activist for public education and universal health care. Summers were always spent at Ghost Lake, her favourite place. If she wasn’t relaxing at the cabin, her love of the outdoors took her on adventures that crossed North America in her other favorite spot, her camper. She was a matriarch to more than just her own family, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Joan will be lovingly remembered by all, especially her husband, Melvin; son, Kipp (Nancy); daughters, Tara and Cara (Steve); grandchildren, Alida and Kayla; sister, Marilyn; and brother, Howard.
As per Joan’s wishes, there will be a celebration of her life that will be announced at a later date. Please forward condolences through www.calgarycrematorium.com
If family and friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to her granddaughter’s cancer research fundraiser at www.albertacancer.ca. Donations may be made under – Alida and Leah’s Cancer Quest in the events tab, to your favorite charity. Our family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Foothills Hospital for their kind care.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joan
