MATTHEWS IVAN D. – Unexpectedly at the Downeast Community
Hospital on Sunday, March 3rd, 2019; Ivan Dale Matthews, husband of
Patricia (Daggett) Matthews of Wilson’s Beach, NB. Born in
Campobello, NB; he is the son of the late Clarence & Aggie (Dow)
Matthews.
For many years Ivan worked as a fisherman with his brothers. He
was a member of Wilson’s Beach Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife Patricia are his 2 daughters
Joanne Tinker (David) of Wilson’s Beach, NB Shelley Matthews –
Smith (David) of Ottawa, Ontario, 1 son Byron of Lubec, ME, U.S.A, 5
grandchildren 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Ivan was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He as
predeceased by
2 brothers Medford and Burris and 6 sisters Phyllis Babcock, Lorena
Barteau, Jewel Calder, Royis Calder, Della Matthews and Elizabeth
Jackson.
There will be no visitation at this time. A graveside service
will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 at Wilson’s Beach
Community Cemetery, Head Harbour Road Time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Wilson’s Beach
Cemetery Fund or charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated by the family. On line condolences to the family or
