Born: December 14, 1928 Death: March 23, 2019

After marrying Reg, they were stationed in Germany with the Canadian Army. While they were very young when they were deployed, they often spoke of the good old times they had. Upon returning to Canada they were stationed at Base Gagetown, Oromocto. Reg eventually left the army and settled the family in Marysville, where both Reg and Ida worked in the Cotton Mill. They made many lasting friends. Reg died very early leaving Ida without a partner for 40 years; Ross (her son) lived with his mom and took great care of her for all these years. Ida was a woman of deep Catholic faith. She would often be teased about wearing out the rosary for all those she prayed for which included her family, friends, people in the news and those she knew were suffering.

The family cannot express enough gratitude to the staff at Eden Village Nursing Home and the staff of 4SW who cared for her these past months. All the priests that made weekly visits for many years gave Ida great comfort and friendship. Ida loved her ‘Doctor Wiley’! She always felt well cared for by Doctor Wiley.
There will be a private burial in Black’s Harbour, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
