Obituary for
Hélène Mastin (Gervais)
MASTIN, Hélène (Landry) (née Gervais)
It is with great sadness that the family announces her peaceful passing, with family by her side at Extendicare York, Sudbury, on March 1st, 2019 at the age of 71 years. Daughter of the late René and Simone Gervais (née Gratton). Loving mother to Nicole Anderson (Ian) and Daniel Landry. Beloved grandmother of Katherine, Derek and Julia Anderson. Sister of Bernie Hinton (Rick), Ronald Gervais (Rachelle) and Claire Pigeon (Robert). She will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends. Despite many medical setbacks, Hélène was a fighter and lived her life in Sudbury to the fullest. She devoted 40 years to the insurance industry over which time her expertise was well respected by her peers and she developed many lasting friendships with her colleagues. Hélène’s passion for cooking and entertaining made her “Hostess with the Mostess” for countless gatherings; from intimate Sunday family dinners, to large parties for friends and family. One planned event always followed another. The family would like to thank the endless nursing and physician care she received at HSN, Sunnybrook Hospital, Sudbury Paramedical Unit, St-Joseph’s Continuing Care, Home care LHIN and finally the amazing and compassionate staff at Extendicare York. A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 at the Caruso Club’s Heritage Hall (lower level) at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations by cheque to Extendicare York’s Program Department would be most appreciated.
