Hazel Kontuk 1932 2019

Obituary of Hazel Kontuk
Hazel Violetta Kontuk, 86 Westville Road, Westville passed awayFriday, March 22, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Willema (Brown) Butler.
Hazel had worked at I.G.A. and then decided to be a “stay at home Mom”to love and raise her five children. Hazel was a big baseball fan especially the Blue Jays and loved when ball season started. In her earlier years, she loved to dance, bake and go camping. Hazel was proud of each and everyone of her grand children, wishing the very best for them, often knitting baby sets for them when she was able and also slippers for her friends. After her husband died, she resided at Porters Lane, Westville for several years before moving to Glen Haven Manor two years ago.
A loving mother, grand mother and great grand mother, she will be dearly missed by her daughter Terry MacLaughlin (Wayne); sons, Charles “Chuckie” (Barb); David; Michael (Maralee); Richard (Kerry); twelve grand children and nine great grand children. He is also survived by her sister Sheila and brother Carl (Josie).
She was predeceased by her husband Charles; sisters Lorna, Leona, and Bev and brothers Kenny, Elwood and Harry.
Thank you to the Glen Haven Girls on 2nd who looked after Mom for the past two years and the nurses at Palliative Care who kept her comfortable even though she was only there for a few hours.
There will be no visitations or funeral service. A celebration of her life will take place at a later time. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Hazel
