DEXTER, Gwendolyn “Gwen” ~ age 94 of Greenwood, NS passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at home. Born in Kent England, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Nora (Marsden) Sly. Gwen was an artist and a member of The Artist Circle, Greenwood and she owned a Christian bookstore for many years. She was also a long-time member of the Aylesford Baptist Church. She dearly loved her Lord, her family, her friends, flowers from her son and the sea. Gwen will be deeply missed by her daughters, Valerie Ann (Keith) Hatt, South Waterville; Gwendolyn “Lyn” Boone, Greenwood; son, David (Kathy) Dexter, LaFollette, Tennessee; Lynette Loomer, Kingston, NS who was raised as one of Gwen’s own; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Gwen was predeceased by her husband John; daughter, Sheila O’Connor; grandson, Teddy Hatt; sisters, Dorothy Dexter and Betty Earle and brother, Ronald Sly. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448 with Rev. Herb Townsend officiating.
