Obituary for Gordon Louis Soppit
May 9, 1954 – March 20, 2019
Gordon Louis Soppit passed away at home on March 20, 2019 with his family by his side. Gordon went to school in Rocky Mountain House, AB and then worked in the oil fields, ranched and drove truck in AB, SK, BC and the USA. He obtained his Commercial Mechanics License as well. As a mechanic he worked for various companies around Cranbrook. Gordon’s last most enjoyable job and travels were with his best friend Dave Lamb. Our life on our farm, working the land, putting up hay and having the cows and calves, BBQ with family on the deck, gave us many happy and laughable memories. Our home with creek and green meadows, peaceful and quiet was our sanctuary.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 25 years; Alva Soppit, Mother; Doris Soppit, Sister; Donna (John), Brothers; Dale (Becky), Jeff (Loretta), Brad (Diane) and their families, Daughter; Crystal (Darren) and family, Sons; Shaun (Bobbi) and family and David, all living in AB. and by his stepchildren; Jerry (Diana) and family and Holly (Randy) and family all of Fort Steele, BC.
He is predeceased by his father; Lou Soppit.
A Memorial Luncheon will be held on Thursday, March 28th, 2019, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at McPherson Funeral Services, Cranbrook, BC.
