Gordon Allen Disbrowe was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on March 21, 2019 at 11:45 am. He was surrounded by his loving wife Christina and his family after a courageous fight with cancer.
Gordon was born in Norway House, Manitoba on July 6, 1955. He was born to Caroline (Disbrowe) Wood. Gordon was raised in Red Sucker Lake by his grandfather Fred Disbrowe Sr, Morton and Mary Disbrowe, Job and Marion Monias, and Simon and Lena McDougall.
Gordon’s beautiful life will be forever cherished by his faithful wife of 42 years – Christina and 4 children Loretta Garrioch (Merrick), Reynold Disbrowe (Genny), Crystal Disbrowe and Talaya Anderson; grandchildren Renelle, Spencer, Gavin, Griffin, Daniel, and Razelle.
He was also loved by his mother Caroline Wood, and siblings: Christina Barkman, Rita Munroe (George), Susan Wood, Elaine Little, Gaye Monias (Harvey), Norman Wood, Freddie Wood (Jennifer), Russel Wood, and Leonard Wood; Christine Harper (Phillip), George Disbrowe, Kevin Disbrowe, Morton Disbrowe, Mac Disbrowe, Bonnie Coles (Melvin), Judy Coates, and Heather Disbrowe.

Gordon was loved by close friends in Minnesota, John and Susan Folger, Amy, Jake, Jared & Brandy; Randy and Janelle Wright and their family.
Gordon was an avid outdoorsman who began fishing at the age of 14. He spent a great deal of his time at fishing camps and loved to hunt. He married Christina when he was 20 years old and together they raised 3 children and numerous foster children whom he loved as his own. He gave his life to the Lord in 1990 and dedicated his life to working in the church with young people. Many young people sought him out as they could relate to him. He sowed the seed and word of God into many lives.
Gordon was active in his own church (Full Gospel Church) which he helped build – and he also helped to build churches in other communities. When he found out there was no musical instruments at the Full Gospel Church, he ordered them for the church. He preached, was a former youth pastor, a musician and always in the background making sure the church ran smoothly whether it was organizing the tent meeting, arranging for guests or fundraising for the church. He personally gave his time to speakers and team members who came to the community making sure they had everything they needed while in the community – as well as taking them for boat rides, fishing, and fellowshipping over shore lunches.
He was so loved, by so many, as he reflected the love of Jesus to all he met – not just in words but in his actions. He was a very generous man in many ways. He would hunt and fish in the summer and winter – always giving away more than he kept. Adjectives used to describe Gordon are: a good friend, faithful to the Lord and his wife, a gentleman, inspirational, loving, humble, friendly, brave, giving, praying, and caring. He was a mighty man of God and will be missed so much – he holds a special place in many hearts.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.
