Gloria Ruby Vance (Morris) – Born July 3, 1929. Passed March 18th, 2019.
In her 90th year, Gloria passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 18, 2019 at Moira Place Long Term Care Home in Tweed. She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Florence Morris and her brother Alvin. Gloria was married to her best friend Allen for 58 years and will be sadly missed but always loved and remembered by her family. Gloria was a devoted mother of Amber (George Howe) Orser and John (Ellen) Vance, loving Grandmother of Jeff (Jodie) Russett, Craig (Ashley) Vance, Allen (Stephanie) Vance, and Katie (Jay) Wallace, great-grandmother of Ben, Carter, Ashalee, Ava, Leah, Tegan, Jaxon, Sophiya and great-great grandmother of Levi. Gloria retired from Bakelite as an Executive Secretary after 25 years to focus on her passion of raising, training and racing Standardbred Racehorses with her husband Al and family on their farm in Corbyville. In the 70’s, they enjoyed racing success with their beloved horse Johnny Command and were thrilled to continue racing for a number years to follow. Gloria loved watching sports and spent her time cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. She was a lover of the outdoors and will be joining Al in Heaven who has been patiently waiting for 13 years to take her hand and show her all of the very best fishing spots. The family would like to thank all the staff at Moira Place for their wonderful and compassionate care of Gloria during her stay. She always had great things to say about the lovely facility, great meals and the care that she received each and everyday At Gloria’s request there will be no visitation. To honour Gloria’s love of animals, donations can be made in her name to the Humane Society of Belleville
