Obituary of Frances McKay
McKAY (Maxwell), Frances Myrtle “Fran” – Surrounded by her family, at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Frances “Fran” McKay died peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the age of 98. Loving mother of Terry Maxwell. Cherished grandmother of Stephanie Maxwell (Kevin), Adam Maxwell and Alex Maxwell (Jessica) all of Sarnia. Great-grandmother of Kesler & Rowan Morris. Also survived by her sister Muriel Pinkos, Cornwall and her special niece and nephews, whom she thought of as her own, Brenda VanSickle and Jim & Gary Ptaszynski. Predeceased by her husbands Jake Maxwell and Glen McKay, parents Frank & Myrtle O’Shea, daughter Lynda Maxwell, and her siblings. Fran loved to knit, quilt and crochet. She was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Women’s League and the Strangway Centre. Special thanks to Alison Maxwell for all of her care and help. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff, nurses and PSW’s at Trillium Villa for their exemplary care of Fran, they treated her like family with warmth and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to The McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia.
