McCaskie, Evelyn Margaret Mary (Henry) passed away with family by her side on March 29, 2019 in her 98th year. She was predeceased in 1989 by her husband of nearly 50 years, Frederick McCaskie. She is mourned by her four children and their families: Karen, Paul, Julia and Karlyn Dinner, Kenneth, Marilyn (Williams), Lisa and Tina McCaskie, Kevin, Bonnie (Trask), Christopher and Kimberly McCaskie, Kerry, Roy, Kyle and Jason Stuart and her 12 great grandchildren.
As the eldest child of Bernard and Hazel (Cowan) Henry, she is survived by her sister Patricia (Henry) Gould, sister-in-law Marilyn (Wheeler) Henry and predeceased by her brother Garth Henry and recently, her sister Dorothy (Henry) Farrant. She is remembered fondly by nieces and nephews Steve and Judy Farrant, Cathie, Brian and Brent Henry, Ruth and Keith Gould and their families.
Marriage into a large family brought her much loved brother, sister and cousin-in-laws: Surviving are Bernard and Audrey (Kennedy) McCaskie, Madeleine (McCaskie) Twomey, Marian (McCaskie) and Everitt Newens, Carol (Caldwell) Coughlin and an incalculable number of McCaskie connected nieces and nephews whose messages of affection and happy memories are treasured.
Evelyn is best known in the community for her reassuring smile and calm demeanour behind the counter in Dr. Boughen’s office from the mid 1960s until her retirement in 1990.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. Memorial donations would be appreciated towards the Alzheimer’s Society of Muskoka.
