Obituary for
Eugenia Dorash
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Eugenia Dorash at 91 years of age. She left us peacefully, early on March 8, 2019 at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Eugenia leaves behind two daughters, Joy-Lynn Dorash and Shelley (Ed) Nehring; grandchildren, Monique, Marc, Melanie, Braden and Shaina; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Michael Bock of Penticton. She will also be warmly remembered by her special friend, Lidia Khaner. Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Fred; daughter, Collette; one brother; and two sisters.
Eugenia came to Canada as a young woman in the late 40’s to build a new life after leaving war-torn Europe. Fred and Eugenia met and settled in Edmonton where she had lived ever since. Eugenia was an accomplished seamstress and drapery maker and spent most of her adult life doing this. She loved entertaining and cooking and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral Service Friday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton with a private family interment in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, please remember Eugenia by making a donation to a favourite animal rescue organization.
