Ella Irene Tiessen 1911 2019

Obituary of Ella Irene Tiessen
Tiessen, Ella – Ella went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the United Mennonite Home in Vineland. She was the loving wife of Fred (d. 2005) for over 66 years, and she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is mourned by her four children, Darlene, Terry (Gail), Carol, and Sharon, and by her 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Dying in her 108th year, Ella had lived a very fulfilling and productive life. She grew up in a Christian family, on a farm in Saskatchewan, with 10 brothers & sisters, and she remained a country girl at heart, always enjoying time spent in nature. For Ella, a gorgeous sunrise or sunset reflected the beauty, and power of an Almighty God with whom ALL things were possible. She and Fred served as missionaries in India for 20 years, and Ella often spoke of those years as some of her happiest. After 30 years in Toronto, they retired to the Niagara Region, where she spent her remaining 25 years, the last 7 of which were in the United Mennonite Home.
A family service will be held on Monday, March 18th, at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes. If desired, donations can be made to the United Mennonite Home or to Christar (christar.ca), the organization with which they served in India.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ella
