Barnes – Elger Joseph of Espanola passed away at the Espanola Nursing Home on March 18, 2019 at the age of 88. Dear son of the late John & Leda (nee Clement) Barnes. Beloved husband of the late Marion (nee Beauchamp)(1997). Loving father of Elger Barnes Jr. of Espanola, Sylvie Barnes (Bill Landry) of Espanola, Gene Barnes (Angie) of Espanola, and stepfather to Brian Dubreuil (partner Happi) of Espanola, Joy-Anne MacPherson (husband George) of British Columbia, Donna Murdock (husband Mike) of Espanola and Gail Joyce of Espanola. Cherished by 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and predeceased by one. Dear brother of Gerald Barnes (wifeAgathe) of Espanola, Vivian Kowalchuk of Espanola and the late Omer Barnes. By request of the family there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation with interment of ashes at a later date in the spring in the Espanola Cemetery. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
