Eileen Elizabeth Betty Patterson 19212019

Eileen Elizabeth “Betty” Patterson
1921-2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Elizabeth
(Betty) Patterson announce her passing on March 15, 2019 at the Saint
John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 19, 1921, she
was the daughter of the late H. Bradford and Vera (Davis) Gilbert. She
was predeceased by her husband, Donald Patterson and her first
husband, Joseph H. Gomar as well as her brother, H.Bradford Gilbert
Jr.
Betty will be sadly missed by daughters, JoAnn Boyle (Bruce),
Patricia Trecartin (Douglas), Teresa Ferris (Paul); son, Thomas Gomar
(Sandra); grandchildren, Gregory and Holly Knudson as well as several
first cousins whom she loved.
Having lived 15 years in Mexico, Brazil and New York, the
experience gave her a worldly and informed outlook on life. She was an
avid golfer and bridge player and was a past member of The Riverside
Country Club and the Union Club. She loved spending her summers in her
beloved Bellisle Bay.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the Saint
John Regional Hospital 5CN and the palliative care unit for their
kindness and loving care of our mother. A special thank you to Drs.
Christine Cameron, Julia Wildish and Chris
O’Brien.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral
Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).As per Betty’s
wishes there will be no visitation. A private family service will be
held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to
a charity of the donor’s choice.
