DYCK, Irvin Edward
—
Irvin went to be with the Lord at Hospice House in Kelowna on March 26, 2019, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Dyck of 45 years; daughter Cassidy deVeer (Gerald); son Dustin Dyck (Nina); grandchildren Kali deVeer, Lucas deVeer; sisters Anita Thiessen (Al), Dianne Janzen (Harv) and Evelyn Carter (Rick); six sisters-in-law Donna, Barb, Linda, Marjory, Debbie and Doreen; three brothers-in-law Doug, Duane and Dean; and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Irvin is predeceased by his parents Abe and Sue Dyck, and brothers-in-law David, Darryl, Danny and Allan.
Irv married the girl of his dreams. He went home after seeing her and told all his friends “I’m gonna marry that girl” and it turns out he was right. They were married for 45 years, which means Patricia made him approximately 11,700 peanut butter sandwiches. He had 2 successful children and lived in a beautiful home. Irv traveled to over 25 countries and ate at some of the best restaurants in the world. He had the chance to play many rounds of golf. Unfortunately, he was unable to witness the Minnesota Vikings win a Super Bowl, but let’s be honest, that’s likely not something any of us will ever see.
A special thanks to Dr. Appleby and the kind and considerate care we received at Hospice.
