Hughes, Doris – Passed away peacefully at Extendicare, Lindsay surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Doris in her 97th year, was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Hughes (1988). Loving Mom of Sheila Henley (Paul), Elizabeth Kearns (Mike), John Hughes (Cathy) and Mary Lou Campbell (Larry). Cherished Gram of Stephen Henley (Judy), Shawn Henley, Marcy Van schagen (Larry); Danny Kearns (Darlene), David Kearns (Anne), Shelley Payne (Garry); Jenny Goltz (Lorne), Kim Gibbs (Chris), Alex Oleksandriw, Nick Oleksandriw (Sue) and Jenny Robinson (Joel); Michael Campbell (Carla) and Angela Coutts (Greg). Great-Gram of 23 grandchildren, predeceased by her great-grandson Justin Henley and Great-Great Gram of 5 grandchildren. She will be remembered by Carol Hughes, nieces, and nephews. A special thanks to the staff and residents at Extendicare for making Mom feel at home in her final years. Visitation will take place at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Thursday, March 14th from 7:00 – 9:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 15th at 2:00p.m at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Mary’s Catholic Church – Restoration Fund would be appreciated by the family.
