Donald Klassen of Edmonton

It’s with great sadness we announce the passing of Donald Klassen.
A wonderful husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and friend.
Donald was a long time resident of Edmonton, he passed away peacefully on March 8 ,2019 at the Misericordia Hospital.
Donald was born in Edmonton in 1960 to parents Peter & Marie Klassen.
Donald’s biggest passions in life were, his loving wife Sonja;
his dog, cats and being a crane operator.
He loved driving around going to Tim Hortons with friends for a coffee,Donald was a huge Saskatchewan roughrider fan and a loyal Calgary flames fan.
He studied at Victoria Composite high followed by N.A.I.T. as well as the University of Alberta.
He was an apprentice for atlas crane, formally know as crane and rigging, general foreman at Suncor energy in 99; worked as a crane operator in the Northwest territories in 96 and was a former member of union local 955.
Donald is survived by his wife Sonja; her children and grandchildren; daughter Renée; brother Darell Klassen; sister Darlene (Hans) Swankhuizen.
Donald was predeceased by his parents Peter and Marie Klassen; nephew Nathan Klassen and his Aunt Pearl Klassen.
A Funeral Service will be held at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive St Albert, AB on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
His immediate family chooses to hold a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canadian liver foundation.
