Obituary of Desmond Clarke
Passed peacefully away, with family by his side, at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 1, 2019, Desmond Clarke of Victoria, age 93 years. Predeceased by wife: A. Jean; daughter: Paula; grandchildren: Joel and baby boy Hendry; parents: Isaac and Mary Anne; brothers: Hanson, Leonard, Melvin, and Gerald; sisters: Adeline and Dora; in-laws: Solomon, Jake, Ollie, and Annie, and a host of in-laws on Jean’s side and whom he considered friends. Leaving to mourn, children: Paulette (Jack, deceased) Fitzgerald, Spaniard’s Bay, her children: Kim (Boyd), Shawn (Karen), and Renee (Colin), and her grandchildren: Abby, Sarah, Matthew, Fiona, and Paige; Wayne (Gwen) Clarke, Red Deer, AB, and his children: Bobby (Fallon) and Katie (Nicole); Jan Clarke, Mount Pearl, her children: Tania (Trevor), Holly (Rowland), Keith, deceased (Tammy), and Krista (Jeff), her grandchildren: Tiffany, Travis, Thomas, Jarrett, Kameron, Jack, Clark, and Danny, and her great-grandson; Bonnie (Gerard) O’Grady, St. John’s; Darren (Ruby) Clarke, Victoria, his children: Bradley (Jennifer) and Becky (Matthew), and his grandson: Karl; brother: David; sisters-in-law: Lillian, Viola, and Edna; also a large number of other relatives and friends. A special thanks to the nurses on the 7th floor and Dr. Howse for your special care and making dad’s final days so comfortable. Your compassion hasn’t gone unnoticed and means so much to us all. Also thanks to a host of special cousins, family, and friends who helped out tremendously over the past years events, your kindness is greatly appreciated. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Monday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Carbonear.
