David was a major Toronto Blue Jays fan and also loved music and took up guitar playing later in life, hosting many fun filled Friday night jams. David was able to live out his dream job of farming for most of his life in and around the Orangeville/Grand Valley area. The last few years of his life he was an iron worker/rod buster where he thoroughly enjoyed the comradely of everyone he worked with and actually looked forward to going to work. He also enjoyed grooming the snowmobile trails for the Huronia/Orangeville club. He had great fun coaching ball hockey for the Orangeville New Hope Community Church.
As per David’s wishes cremation has take place. A celebration of life will be held to honour David with details to be announced at a later date.
In the last four months David spent a lot of time in and out of the Bluewater Hospital, Sarnia, on the fifth floor in the palliative wing where he received the most amazing, compassionate care from all the staff in that department. It was greatly appreciated.
Donations to the Bluewater Health Foundation for Palliative Care, Sarnia (bwhf.ca) or to Saint Joseph’s Hospice -Sarnia (www.stjosephshospie.ca) would be greatly appreciated. Memories and condolences maybe shared online at www.needhamjay.com.

Death notice for the town of: Petrolia, Province: Ontario
Dear Patti, Daniel and Family
I am so sorry to learn of your loss. We go back many years as a friend and client. David was a very valued customer of mine and a friend. I had the privilege of getting to know David well over the years. A man of real honesty and integrity. I also got to know David as a brother in Christ. I rest assured that David is now living a life filled with utmost joy and is praising God. Some day soon I will see him again. Please let me know when you are holding David’s memorial service. Evelyn and I would like to attend.
Dear Pat I just recently learned about the loss of your husband David. I was so saddened for you Pat. I know how much you loved and respected him and you will miss him greatly. You both had a great love for the Bible and you cherished reading God’s word daily together. May you find comfort and peace in remembering the promise of the resurrection and the paradise earth that we pray for in the Our Father prayer…for God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth. We know that this is not his will for people to suffer and die. His kingdom through Christ will remedy that.
Sincerely, Teresa Vangerven.
