Obituary of Cecilia Stewart
STEWART: Cecilia (nee Bokor) –
A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Blenheim, Cecilia Stewart passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus surrounded by family at her side on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the age of 93.
Born in Slovakia, Cecilia was the daughter of the late Michael and Veronica Bokor.
Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Joseph (2005).
Loving mother of Rosemarie Brokenshire (Rick) of Ingersoll, Patt Stewart of London, David Stewart (Joyce) of Prairie Siding and June Stewart-White (Dan) of Chatham.
Proud Grandma of Devin Brokenshire, Jonathon Brokenshire; Cresa Stewart, Jason Summerfield (Becky); David Stewart, Jr. (Nicole), Emily Stewart; Matthew Stewart, Jeromy Varney, Alicia White and Rachel White. Honourary Grandma to Brenda Churney.
Great-Grandma to Kayla Brokenshire, Phillip Brokenshire; Noah Brokenshire, Hailey Brokenshire; Lisa Stewart; Elijah Summerfield, Elizabeth Summerfield; Dalia Stewart, Asher Stewart; Clark Smyth; Karma White and Jude White.
Dear sister to Frances Foster and Irene McCarron. Predeceased by her siblings Mary Istok, Rose VanTorre, Frank Bokor, Mike Bokor, Jim Bokor, Vera Bokor, Emily Bokor, Annie Bokor and John Bokor.
Cherished friend to Nancy McIlroy.
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm and on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 9:30am until 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 95 Marlborough Street North at 11:00 am on Saturday with Fr. John Juhl as celebrant. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Cecilia to the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre, Outreach for Hunger or Refuge (Right to Life Kent) would be appreciated.
