On March 12th 2019, Bruce took his last earthly breath, to join his family and friends at a party already in progress. He was always known to be on time for any party and usually ended up being the centre of attention and the life of any event. Heaven won’t know what hit it! He has gone on ahead to make room for his wife Cathy (nee Schmitz) of 42 years, daughter, Shannon Korpan (Darryl), granddaughter Avery, son, Brandon Dettweiler and grandsons Nicholas Orth and Jorden Dettweiler. He will be missed by his siblings Paul Dettweiler (Candy), Carol Gedcke (Ron), David Dettweiler (Nancy), Coleen Snyder (Neil) and Cindy Snyder. As well as his parent-in-laws, William and Elna Schmitz and brother-in-law Bill Schmitz(Susan). He was loved by numerous nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles and an incredible support team of friends that have so touched Bruce’s life and those of his family. All of whom he has promised to wait patiently for, even though he never was a patient man. Welcoming committee included his parents Ward and Beatrice, niece Pamela Snyder and numerous friends including his best friend James LeClair. Special thank you to Bayshore Nursing, RVH Oncology, GBGH and Dr. Jennifer Johnson and all other doctors for the loving care over these last 10 months. Funeral services to be held at Breslau Mennonite Church on March 16th, 2019 at 1:30pm. Celebration of Life will follow at the Sava Club in Breslau at 3pm (Cash only bar). Cremation has already taken place. If desired memorial donations to RVH Oncology or a charity of your choice.
