Betty-Jean Davis, age 91, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Maitland Manor, Goderich on March 1, 2019. Born in Stouffville, daughter of the late Herbert and Dorothy Freel.
Betty-Jean graduated from the University of Toronto in Honours History. She taught secondary school for many years, retiring at Stratford Central Secondary School. She was a member of the Stratford Festival Board Senate and founding member of the Stratford University Women’s Club.
Beloved wife of the late Dr. Donald Davis. Loving mother of Rosemary Davis (Ian Harper), Elizabeth Davis, Barbara Davis (John Revitt) and Sandra Janicijevic (Bob). Grandmother of Margaret, Martha, Emily, Adam, Irena and Kate. Also survived by a sister-in-law Mary Freel and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son-in-law Ken Langford, her brother Lloyd Freel and her sister Margaret Campbell.
Visitation at St. James Anglican Church, 41 Mornington Street, Stratford on Saturday, March 9, from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. Rev. Dr. Lorne Mitchell will officiate. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Stratford or the Stratford General Hospital through the W.G.
