With heavy hearts, the family of Bernard James “Jimmy” Dallon, loving husband of 51 years to Sabra Dallon, announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Saturday March 2nd, 2019. Jimmy was born September 21, 1946 and was the son of the late Kenneth and Carmel (Quinlan) Dallon.
Jimmy was a selfless, hard-working man who would do anything for anyone, regardless of what he needed to do for himself. He was a longshoreman and was a proud member of the ILA Local 273. Sharing a love for the outdoors, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially gardening. He always enjoyed his Sunday night’s listening to the Country Jamboree.
Along with his cherished wife Sabra, Jimmy is survived by his children; Kenneth (Crystal) of Saint John, Stephen (Jo-Ellen) of Sherwood Park, AB, Luke (Beverly) of St. Martins, Patrick (Angela), Grattan (Cali), Sabra (Steven) Howe, Ellen (Curtis) Juliano, Charlotte and Tanya (Harry) Ripley all of Saint John. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret Bowlin and Marie (Marvin) Rackley both of Saint John and Heather (Jim) MacDougall of Nova Scotia.
Also left to mourn are his grandchildren; Ryan, Bernard, Crystal, Thomas, Kyle, Jordan, Hannah, Gregory, Landon, Nicole, Andrea, Chloe, Ethan, Sophie, Zachary, Jacob, Nicholas, Katey, Zachary, Kayla, Bailey and Gracie, great grandchildren; Luna, Blake, Arlington, Evelyn, Matthew, Avaleigh, Myla, Isabella, Deliah and a special great grandchild on the way.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is predeceased by his sons, Raymond and Bernie and his best friend Percy Leslie.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, March 7th between 2-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 8th at 11 AM from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
