It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Arthur Gregory Barry which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019. Born 1927, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Patrick and Florence (Gaudet) Barry. Art worked as a Millwright at Irving Paper for 24 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 and was an avid dart player, horseshoe player and swimmer.
Art is survived by his loving and devoted wife Barbara (Lockhart) of Saint John; son Gregory Wayne (Rosemary) of Saint John; daughters Lynn Marie Barry-Gibson (Ken) of Woodstock, NB, Karen Ann Walker (Dave) of Saint John, Jane of Saint John; grandchildren Jason, Dustin and Vincent; great grandchildren Ryan, Rainaja and Kingston; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Art was predeceased by his brothers Percy, John, Robert and Joseph and sisters Lillian, Mercedes, Geraldine, Dorothy and Doreen.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). As per Art’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Art may be made to Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
