Annie Florence Pierce
March 15, 1929 – February 28, 2019
89 of Beaverbank, passed away February 28th, 2019 in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Middleton she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Emma Alberta (Slocomb) Hines. Annie began working as an educator in one room schools preparing lessons for primary through Grade 12. After marrying her soulmate her primary focus was on helping around their farm in Mount Hanley Nova Scotia. They moved from the valley in 1964 and made their home soon after in Beaverbank. Along with her husband she raised two daughters and a son. She remained very active in the education of her children. She was an active member of Bedford Baptist Church for over 40 years. She participated in cleanup days at the church, attended the Jean Rushton WMS group when able, baked and donated over 100 cookies each year for Vacation Bible School. Prayer was an integral part of her spiritual growth and she used this talent to captain a team of prayer chain partners for many years. Her entire family enjoyed the fruits of her labour when it came to preparing home cooked meals and baked goods. Her great grandchildren will remember her as “Nanny that made the best rice krispie squares” ever and her patience for completing jigsaw puzzles. Her hobbies included reading, knitting, quilting, sudoko, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
