Obituary for Anne Mahu
Catherine Margaret ANNE Mahu, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at the C-K Hospice on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the age of 90. Anne was the daughter of the late Joseph & Geraldine (O’Connor) Eckert. Beloved wife of Peter. Loving mother of Anne Marie Henry (Joseph) of Brampton, Michael Mahu (Ruth) of Belle River, Katherine Brown (Tom) of Sarnia and the late Paul Mahu. Dear grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Sister of Rosemary Rhodes (late Randolph) and the late Con Eckert (Adelle), Dorothy Hall (Don), Fran Leitch (John), Julia Eckert-McLean, Geraldine McFadden (Harold), and William Eckert. Sister-in-law of Joanne Eckert. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Anne was an elementary school teacher in Wallaceburg for many years, teaching in Wallaceburg at Holy Family School, Our Lady of Help, Christ the King and St. Elizabeth, as well as in Turnerville at St. Michael. At Anne’s request, guests are asked to wear something yellow, Anne’s favorite colour, to the visitation and/or the funeral to help brighten the day. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Friday from 6 – 8 PM. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Saturday, March 30 at 11 AM. Cremation to follow with interment in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
