After a short illness, Elmer Elvin Lucht joined his wife and children in eternal rest, February 28, 2019, in Kelowna General Hospital.
Elmer was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, to Clara and August Lucht. After spending the first several years of his life on the family farm in Luseland, Saskatchewan, he moved to Fruitvale, BC with his family, where he met the love of his life, Alice May Nobel. They were married November 16, 1957, where they created a loving family for themselves and their 7 children.
Elmer was a proud union member, who at the age of 85, still kept a current status with IUOE Local 115. He will also be remembered for his intense love of children, his many stories, and his wonderful sense of humour. He will also be remembered as the Shed Guy from Park Siding, and his sheds can be found from the Alberta Border to Vancouver Island, and as far south as California. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Elmer is survived by his children Louise, Christine, Todd and Tim (Naomi). Elmer’s pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mike, Luke (Lisa): Anika and Aviana; Brad (Bev): Brooke and Bailey; Amber (Shawn): Ben, Aurora and Koa; Daniel (Kenzie): Everly and Lily; Tosha: Cobin and Cienna; Noah, Taedon, Grace, Neveah and Nash. Elmer was tragically preceded by his wife Alice, and his children Peggy, Dwayne and Ronnie.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Elmer’s name to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Heath Foundation (Emergency Room Campaign) at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 2001 2nd Ave, Trail, BC at 11:00 am on Friday, March 8th. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with the arrangements.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me someday to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I’ll share.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Elmer Elvin Lucht February 28th 2019..
