Rudy Peltoniemi
March 31, 1940 – March 01, 2019
It is with heavy heart that the family of Rudy Peltoniemi, announces his peaceful passing on March 1/19.
Loving husband of the late Stella Peltoniemi (Buratynski). Married for 55 years they did everything together. Fish, camp, travel. They enjoyed their trips to States to attend the plane show, or just to relax in the sunny south.
Son of the late Wm and Muriel Duck (Peltoniemi)
Will be forever missed by siblings, Kathy Nicholson (Len) of Espanola, Ray of Espanola, Bev Millikin(Keith) of Guelph, Bill Duck (Sandra) of Sheguiandah, and Dianna Patreau (Charles) of Azilda.
Rudy was a cherished and much loved uncle to many nephews and nieces. His stories of days past, and words of wisdom will be forever remembered and missed.
Retiring from Domtar, as an Electrician after many years service-he never stopped working. Rudy loved helping family and friends, never more than a call away. “If it was broken, Rudy could fix it” He always seemed to have the exact part for anything. Always willing to give a helping hand. Rudy shared many stories of his number one passion-Flying. Rudy was a pilot and owned his own plane for 17 years. His best friend told me he remembers the day Rudy completed his flight test…” you couldn’t wipe that big grin off his face”. Hunting and fishing “ in his secret lakes” on his days off was his simple pleasure. In the summer, Rudy would deliver fresh picked blueberries “from his secret spot”.
Leaving behind his friends and neighbors would not have been easy for Rudy. He spoke highly of his friends and held them in the highest regard. A special thank you Al, Dave, Gary, and Andy for your support and kindness.
As per Rudy’s request there will be no visitation or service. Burial for Rudy and Stella will be at a later date.
Donations to the Palliative Room in the Espanola Regional Hospital would be gratefully accepted in lieu of flowers. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola
