Paul Allister Swan
Paul Allister Swan –
81, formerly of Folly Lake, passed away on
Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Moncton City Hospital, Moncton, New
Brunswick. Born in Debert, he was the son of the late James Albert and
Letitia Swan.
Paul began his career with the RCMP and then continued with
Correctional Services of Canada for 28 years. Following his
retirement, he opened Swan’s Greenhouse in Debert with his
late wife, Janet (MacKay). Following this, they enjoyed summers on
Folly Lake and winters in Clearwater, Florida. He enjoyed flying his
plane and was member of Debert Flying Club and also enjoyed playing
his mandolin with his jamming buddies.
He was the last remaining member of his immediate family,
having been predeceased by his wife, Janet (2012); brothers, Calvin,
Basil, Ian; sister, Enid. He is survived by sons, Robin Swan (Denise),
Shane Langille; daughters, Debby Colwell (Michael), Cindy Golding
(Sel), Sherry Iaboni (Silvano); grandchildren, Travis, Joni, Jeremy,
Jacob, Ashlea, Aled, Doug, Michael, Kyle; great grandchildren, Averie,
Maizee, and Bryn.
Paul’s family would like to thank all his caregivers
both at Folly Lake, Moncton Residence and Moncton Hospital Palliative
Care Unit for their care and compassion.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service
will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019, Reverend Connie
Stewart officiating. Recption will follow. Spring interment in Middle
Road Cemetery, Middle Road, Debert. Flowers by family only. If so
desired, donations in Paul’s memory to Alzheimer Society of
Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed. Private messages
