It is with a broken heart and a smile on our face that we, the family of Valda Shirley Williams, announce the passing of our beautiful, strong and witty mother on March 1, 2019, at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by her husband Weldon; parents Weston and Alice Williams; brothers George, Alex and Eugene; and sister Marjorie (Lloyd) Samson. Leaving to mourn her loving son Wayne and special daughter in law (friend) Joan, 5 daughters Lorraine (John), Sharon, Judy (Ron), Annette (Blair) and Leann (Bob); 11 grandchildren: Tom, Wendy, Geoffrey, Mark, Kyle, Matthew, Julia, Nicholas, Lucas, Hannah and Riley; and 3 great grandchildren Jorja, Grace and Hudson, Also leaving to mourn her sisters Gwen Williams (Ron Tucker) and Olive Carter (Gordon-deceased); and a large circle of family and friends. The family would like to thank home care worker Colleen White and the staff and volunteers of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home 3 West, for the care and compassion shown throughout her stay. Mom was very appreciative for everything that you did for her and showed it in her own special way. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday March 4 and Tuesday March 5 from 12- 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Goulds, on Wednesday March 6 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Presentation Cemetery, Goulds. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Valda’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Goulds.
