1951-2019
It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Ian Smart, age 67, of Anderson
Settlement, NB. Ian passed away at the Moncton Hospital,
surrounded by loving family, on Saturday, March 30,
2019.
Born in England, he was a son of the
late James and Audrey (Simpson) Smart.
Ian was retired after many years working
for NB Power. He was a handyman who loved doing woodwork and
helping with everyone’s projects. He loved the outdoors,
spending time in the woods and hunting. An avid gardener, he
could grow anything and shared his produce with friends and
family. He loved gatherings, sharing a story, singing a
song, or playing his guitar.
Ian will be dearly missed by his wife of
46 years, Shirley (Wells) Smart, Anderson Settlement; daughters Susan
(Corey) Higgins, Sackville, NB and Sally Smart, Sackville, NB; 4
grandchildren, Reegan, Shelby, Madison, and Dylan; siblings Jeanette
(Fergie Lawson), Walton’s Beach, Michael, Coburg, Maureen (Lorne)
Allen, Baie Verte, Glenn (Tara), Baie Verte, Shaun (Sheri), Sackville;
he held a special place in the hearts of his numerous nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St.,
Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). A Celebration of Life will be held at
the funeral home on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2 pm, Wayne Jarvis, DLM,
officiating.
Those wishing to make a donation in
Ian’s name may do so to the charity of your choice.
