Derek Bamford
Born September 6, 1931 in Rochdale, England. Died peacefully, on March 29, 2019 at 87 years of age with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Lynn (Hemers) for 30 years and reunited with his late wife Norma. Loving father of Joanne and husband Joe Carnevale, Karen and husband Steve Walsh, and step-dad of Jennifer Jewell and partner Ron Manchester and Kristin and husband Michael D’Crus. Treasured Grandad of Derek (Mary-Kate), Alexandrea, Daisy, Dahlia, Gabriel, Maelyn, Shane, Owen and the late Robin. Dear brother of Harry Bamford of England. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends in England, Canada and the United States. Derek lived and loved life to the fullest. He emigrated to Canada in 1965. He was a gentleman until the very end. He was retired from Ford Motor Company for almost 30 years. Derek was an avid sports fan and was always loyal to his teams; The Tigers, The Red Wings, The Lions, and especially his football teams Manchester United and Rochdale AFC “Up the Dale!” Special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Windsor Regional Hospital- Met campus and of Aspen Lake for their dedicated care and kindness. If you so desire, donations to Transition to Betterness, Windsor Regional Hospital, the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visiting Tuesday 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841
