May 14, 1944 – March 28, 2019
Passed peacefully, with his family at his side, Lester James Shea Jr. (“Kip”), aged 74. Predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Josephine, as well as his parents, Lester and Frances, and his brother James. Kip leaves to mourn his children Patty Ann Maloney (John), Peter (Cathy) and Keith (Becky), and his grandchildren Allie, Joey, Nell and Frankie. Kip also leaves his sisters Patricia Dawe, Barbara Lewis (Russell), and Jean Chiles (Roger), as well as a large and wonderful circle of friends and relatives. Kip loved nature and lived for the Newfoundland outdoors, spending many happy times with family and friends at his cabins on Caribou Lake and Gambo Pond. He loved music and making fun, and always enjoyed a good laugh. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to the Ostomy Canada Society or Daffodil Place. Resting at Stacy’s Funeral Home, Gander, with visitation on Saturday, March 30th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 31st from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m. Mass of Christian burial from Saint Joseph’s Church, Gander at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1st, with internment to follow at a later date. Special thank you to Delilah Guy for her excellent care, as well as the staff at Community Health, James Paton Memorial Hospital, and the Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
