The passing of Elizabeth “Shirley” (Cashen) Wilkins of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late George Wilkins occurred peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Fredericton Hospice House surrounded by her family. Born on August 30, 1939 in Cains River, NB, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Frances (Kervin) Cashen. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Shirley loved music.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Juanita MacQueen (Jeff), Mary Martinson (Bob), Lorraine MacCausland (Keith) and Sherry Drost (Dwight); sons, Tim Wilkins (Wanda) and Randolph Wilkins (Diane); grandchildren, Cody MacQueen (Paige), Connor MacQueen, Kelli Martinson, Jacob Wilkins and Alyssa Wilkins; great grandson, Oliver MacQueen; sisters, June Wilkins, Eileen Cashen, Pauline Cashen and Bonnie Messer (Duane); several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by her sister, Mary Joan Cashen; brothers, James and Jackie Cashen; brother-in-law, Robert Wilkins

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 11 am with Father Martin Arputham as celebrant.
Interment will take place at Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Hospice Fredericton or Holy Name of Mary Cemetery. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
