Obituary of Jean Cameron
March 9, 1935 – March 18, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Cameron announces her passing in Grande Prairie on March 18, 2019 at the age of 84 years.
Ramona Jean Cameron was born “Jean” Scorgie to William and Violette Scorgie at the farm in their Hinton Trail Home. Jean attended grades 1-8 at Craigalechie School in the Hinton Trail Area, Elmworth School, and finished at the Grande Prairie High School staying at the Wapiti Dorm. Jean worked at Watchers Jewelry until she married Alex Cameron on October 25, 1954.
Jean is survived by her husband Alex, her children Dianne Almond (Bob), Terry (Lori), Shelley McDonald (Alex), Sandee Van Volkingburgh (Dale), daughter-in-law Joan Cameron and sister-in-law Helen Scorgie, Candis Chateauneuf, 14 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Curtis, her son-in-law Camille, her brothers Sandy, Vern, and Len, her sisters Alta and Ellen, and her parents William and Vi.
A Memorial Service for Jean will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Forbes Presbyterian Church (9635 76 Ave, Grande Prairie). A private family interment will be held prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Forbes Presbyterian Church 9635 76 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 5B3, or to the Canadian Cancer Society www.cancer.ca.
