Timothy Joseph Swazey 19572019

Timothy Joseph Swazey passed away
peacefully Sunday morning, March
17th,
2019, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, at the age of
61.
Tim was predeceased by his devoted
parents, Lawrence and Anne (McCloskey) Swazey, his uncles, Joe
McCloskey, Vaughn Ross, Joe Brennan, Harley Stewart, and Lloyd Swazey,
his aunt, Doreen Stewart, and cousins, Heather Ross and Barbara
MacKay. Tim is survived by his aunts and uncles, Jackie Ross,
Vivien Brennan, Isabelle Trobridge, Pat Swazey, Vince and Hazel
Swazey, Jim and Caroline Swazey, Darrell and Georgette
Swazey, and many cousins.
Born October 26, 1957 and raised in
Fredericton, Tim worked in construction, spent 17 years at the Daily
Gleaner, then worked in security and merchandising. Health problems
caused him to retire early. In his earlier years, Tim enjoyed
woodworking and was meticulous with the beautiful furniture he built
and the bowls he turned. His other passion was his vehicles. He
customized the inside of his 1978 Dodge van with top to
bottom pine. It was something to see and a sound you’d never
forget because Tim was just as precise under the hood. “That
friggin’ van” (what he called it on a good day) and his 1970
Chevelle were his pride and joy. Tim treasured all our family pets and
truly enjoyed every time a cat and a dog came face to face. Being an
only child, he also quite enjoyed it when his sibling cousins Kari and
Jason went face to face-often repeated in this generation between
Swazey and Reirdan. His inherently dry wit left us wondering how he
came up with one-liners like that.
Tim’s family is forever
grateful to the Bartlett Gardens Care Home for their dedicated care
and kindness to Tim these last couple of years. As well, special
thanks to Rob McFee for being such a loyal
friend.
A funeral service will be held at St
Dunstan’s Catholic Church on Friday, March
22nd,
at 12:05 pm. Pallbearers are Kenneth Price, Jason Swazey, Joel Ross,
Brian Stewart, David Stewart and Rob McFee. Honorary pallbearers are
Peter Ross, Bev Storey, John Godin, Bill Chambré, Mike
Gillespie, Bill MacLean and Tim’s friends (who became family) from
Bartlett Gardens Care Home. A reception will follow in the Monsignor
Boyd Centre. Internment will take place at St Joachim’s
Catholic Cemetery in Boiestown at a later date.
For those who wish to make a
remembrance, donate to a charity of your choosing or do something that
Tim would have enjoyed – in his honour. Funeral arrangements entrusted
to Bishop’s Funeral Home. Personal condolences can be made through
