1921-2019
It is with great sadness that we, the
family, announce the death of our father, George Godin, formerly of
Miramichi Ave., husband of the late Marie (Legacy) Godin (2004) which
occurred Sunday March 17, 2019 at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, at
the age of 97.
Born in St-Amateur, NB he was
the son of the late Richard and Virginie (Cormier)
Godin.
He was retired after working 43 years at
the former Bathurst Consolidated Paper
Mill.
He is survived by
his sons Clifford Godin (Johanna) of Bathurst and William Godin
(Judith Basque) of Landry Office and one daughter Claudia LeBlanc
(Gerald) of Petit-Rocher.
He is also survived
by his 4 grandchildren: Billy (Cheryl), Ricky (Jocelyn), Lori
(Clifford), Peter (Julia) and 6 great-grandchildren: Mckenzie (Jon),
Kassidy, Karter, Tristan (Jessica), Hailey and Paige.
His bother Alban of Bathurst and many
nieces and nephews.
His
daughter-in-law Gail (Howell) Godin of Bathurst.
He was pre-deceased by his siblings Patrick, Izella, Alfred,
Delima, Leandre, Yvonne, Gerard, Dora and Jeanne,
and his special
friends: Léa Comeau and Marguerite
Savoie.
The family wishes
to thank the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes for the excellent care given
to our father for the many years he resided there.
There will be no
visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held
on Wednesday, March 20th, 2019 at 10 a.m. from
Elhatton funeral home chapel (www.elhatton.com),
Bathurst.
Donations in
memory of George may be made to the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes or a
charity of the donor’s
choice.
