At the age of 75, passed away on March 10th, 2019 at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born January 21, 1944 in the town of Flin Flon, Manitoba. Colin was the son of the late Gertrude and Dennis Herring. Brother of Helen McNamara, Dennis Herring, Tricia Kelly and Rodney Herring. Beloved friend of Ellen Price. Father of Jamie Price. Colin worked as a Residential Councillor at the Huronia Regional Centre before retiring. He was a devout Catholic and a Secular Franciscan.
On Saturday, March 16th there will be a Secular Franciscan Wake Service at St. Patrick’s Church in Phelpston beginning at 10:30 am, followed by a memorial mass at 11 am .
A special thanks to the staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital, especially Dr. Nay, who oversaw Colin’s cancer treatment.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Gilda’s Club would be appreciated.
