September 03, 1933 – March 12, 2019

Passed peacefully away after a short but courageous battle with cancer, Joan Marie Ryan, (nee Stevenson), aged 85 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Clarence Ryan; father, Charles Stevenson; and mother, Margaret Stevenson (McGrath). Leaving to mourn with fond memories but heartfelt sadness, her devoted children: Janine (Tom), Tony (Sheila and son Neil), John (Kim), Joanne (Sean), Susan and Jamie (Heather). Also leaving to mourn with precious memories, her loving grandchildren: Ryan (Tina), Sarah (Dave), Jennifer (Colin), Matthew (Melanie), Jonathan, (along with their mother Kathy), Mark, Krista (Brad), Shane (Sasha), Melissa, Stephanie (Stephen), Jacob and Keegan; and great-grandchildren: Megan, Juliette and Benjamin. Also leaving to mourn with deep sadness, her loving brothers Tony (Marlie), Mick (Sheila); sister Trish (Frank); as well as a large circle of family and friends, especially her dear friends at Kenny’s Pond Apartments where she lived for the past 19 years. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of St. Clare’s, Health Sciences Centre and Palliative Care who provided compassionate care to our dear mother during her short illness. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday, March 14th, 2019 and Friday, March, 15th, 2019 from 11 a.m to 9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 from Caul’s Chapel at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Autism Society of NL or Choices for Youth.
