FERREN, Catherine Silvia (nee Ciarrocca) – It is with great sadness that the family announces her passing, at the Ray and Helen Lawson Eventide Home, on Sunday March 10, 2019, at the age of 84. Catherine is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Peter, daughter Joanne, son David (Kim), and granddaughters Kelsey and Courtney. Catherine was predeceased by her parents Olivio and Antonina, brothers Lawrence and Raymond, and granddaughter Emmaleigh. Catherine was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario and was a graduate of Timmins High and Vocational School and the St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing. Catherine pursued her vocation as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Timmins for 20 years and, for a time, was also a nursing instructor at Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology in South Porcupine. Though the family moved to Niagara Falls in 1980, Catherine and her husband Peter always retained a deep and loving affection for her hometown and frequently returned to Timmins to visit close family and friends over the years. The family would like to thank Major Rene and the entire staff at the Ray and Helen Lawson Eventide Home for the dedicated and compassionate care provided to Catherine over the last five years. A special thank you to our Pastor, Father Peter Rowe, for his love and support. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at 3:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Thomas More Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
