BESSELING, Carl
Peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital on Sunday, March 10, 2019, in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Jean. Loved father of Rob (Tania), Eric (Michelle), Leanne Westhouse. Loving Opa of Aaron (Abby-Lei), Ryley (Chelsea), Maya, Justine, Evan, Blake and Great Opa of Nora-Lei. Dear brother of Frances Hernder (the late Art), Joanne Wyhoffen (the late Bill), Phillip (Michelin), and brother-in-law John MacDonald. Predeceased by his sister Catherine MacDonald and his parents Herman and Frances. Carl immigrated to Canada from Holland in 1953, he was one of the founders of the family business, Besseling Mechanical. He was a hard-working man who put his family first. He was an avid bird watcher and nature lover whose would spend countless hours making custom bird houses to attract unique bird species. Carl will be missed and forever loved by his wife of 54 years, children and grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 63 Hwy 20 East, Stoney Creek on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd Centre, Hamilton would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be sent at www.donaldvbrown.ca
