Paul Mombourquette
1955-2019
We, the family of Paul Amable
Mombourquette, regret to announce his passing on Wednesday, March 6,
2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital,
Sydney.
Born June 8, 1955, in Sydney, he was the son of Jane (Neill)
Mombourquette, Sydney and the late Joseph
Mombourquette.
For 22 years, Paul was a Sergeant in the military, serving
overseas during the Gulf War. He was employed in material management
at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and a member of St.
Theresa’s parish, Sydney.
Besides his mother, Paul is survived by his wife, Sharon
(Redmond); daughter, Amanda, at home; granddaughter, Chloe; and
sister, Jane (John) MacInnis, Mississauga, Ont.
To our very close family and friends who came to visit,
called and sent food in our time of need, thank you. Your kindness has
meant so much. A special thank you to Cathy Fraser and Gloria Jessome
for helping Paul with his final wishes, Paul Martin and Bruno Procopio
for being our special neighbours, as well as Dr. John Archibald and
Debbie, the VON, the doctors and nursing staff in the An Cala Unit at
the CBRH and Paul’s sister, Jane for her many trips home to
be with Paul in his final months.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be
held at a later date, with interment in Forest Haven Memorial
Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the An Cala, Palliative Care Unit at
the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
