It is with great sadness
that the family of the late WILLIAM
BERT THORNE of Fortune announces
his passing at the Dr. S. Beckley Health Centre in Grand Bank on
Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the age of 78. Leaving to
mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Elizabeth of 56 years;
sons, Calvin (Marlene) of Fortune, Bruce (Pamela) of Fortune, William
(Holly) of St. John’s; daughters, Isabelle Isaacs (James) of
Lord’s Cove, Janet Herridge (Doug) of Grand Bank, Kelly
Thorne (Paul Monster) of Fortune, Cindy Hillier (Ambrose) of Fortune,
Vicky Felix (Bill) of Grand Prairie, AB, Heather Hillier (Ryan) of
Fortune; sisters, Hilda Hillier (Lloyd), Phylis Isaacs (Herb);
brothers, James (Sharon Piercey), Robert, Gerald (Audrey), Kelvin
(Gloria); sister-in-law, Rita Thorne; 18 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of extended family and
friends. He was predeceased by his parents, James &
Jessie Thorne; daughter, Janet Thorne; grandson, Jimmy Isaacs;
brother, Raymond Thorne; parents-in-law, John & Nina Myles;
brother-in-law, Frank Myles; sister-in-law, Betty
Thorne.
The Thorne Family will
be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Fortune
on Thursday, February 21st from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm
and on Friday, February 22nd from 10:00am to 12:00pm, 2:00pm to 4:00pm
& 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at the
Fortune Salvation Army Church on Saturday, February 23rd at 2:00pm.
Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery,
Fortune.
