OBITUARY
Tillie Kathryn Garner
Passed away on February 1, 2019
It is with sadness that our family must announce the passing of Tillie on February 1, 2019 at the age of 94, at Jasper Place Care Facility in Edmonton.
Mrs. Tillie (Matilda) Katherine Garner was born on February 3, 1924 on the farm in Spruce Grove. Tillie was a great wife and helpmate for husband Bill, a dedicated mother to sons, Jon, and Tim. She was a hard worker and she loved to cook and feed people. She was active in the Women’s Institute, the Lutheran Ladies Aide and in the Scouting Auxiliary, but she was especially proud of her catering business. Tillie enjoyed gatherings with family, visiting with her numerous friends, and Tillie loved children. She will be missed in many ways.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Jonathon (Karen) and Timothy (Jane); grandchildren, Christopher (Shailene), Stephen (Dana), David, Gregory, and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Owen, Daniel, Alissa, Charlie, Desmond, and Hunter. She is also survived by her brother Carl Wettlaufer.
She is predeceased by her father, John Wettlaufer and her mother Elizabeth Wettlaufer (nee Mattes/Schmidt). As well, she is predeceased by her step sisters, Helen Fisher, and Em Middleton;
step-brothers, Werner, Henry and Bill Schmidt; brother, Johnny; and sister, Ruth Thomson.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Jasper Place Continuing Care for their loving attention during Tillie’s stay.
If friends desire, Memorial Tributes may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church 303 Church Road, Spruce Grove, Alberta T7X 0G2 or to a Charity of one’s choice.
