Obituary for
Thomas “Tommy” Roberto
ROBERTO, Thomas “Tommy” – Passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday, February 1, 2019 with family at his side, at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee Onda) for 58 wonderful years of love and comfort. Cherished father of Kelly Citrigno (Massimo). Proud and loving grandfather of Thomas Mario and Grace Evelyn Citrigno. Predeceased by his parents Pasquale and Raffaela, brothers Tony (Presentine), Jim (Murielle), Wally (Shirley) and sister Rose Aceti (John). Tommy was a devoted father and grandfather whose family was everything. He had a zest for life and he lived it well. Tommy had miles and miles of heart and will be missed by so many. He was well known for the family business “Roberto’s Half Moon”, always answering the phone “MOON!”. He was a King Street Boy and an avid Yankees fan. In his later years he focused on family and taking care of Shirley. He lived for his grandchildren and loved to socialize and laugh. He was always happy. A role model, a father, a grandfather and a best friend, ‘these are wonderful memories to keep us warm’. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, February 5th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the Parish Community of St. Kevin, 303 Niagara Street, Welland on Wednesday, February 6th at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Pleasantview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Tommy may be made to The Hospital for Sick Children – Cardiac Department or the Parish Community of St. Kevin.
