Clayton, Stanley, Edward- 84, Yarmouth, passed away February 14,2019 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth he was a son to the late Frederick and Mary (Melanson) Clayton. Stanley was a die-hard sports fan. He would often be found at the Yarmouth Arena and Mariners Centre. He was a founding Member of Yarmouth Town and County Sports Heritage Association. A Toronto Maple Leaf’s and Boston Red Sox Fan, he was most often “watching the game”. Stan is survived by his loving wife Margaret; daughter Barbara (Leonard) Adams, Brazil Lake; sons Robert, Port Alberni, BC.; Alan, Terrence Bay; David (Jenn), Yarmouth and Rick, Yarmouth; sisters Louis (Bill) Smith, Lexington, Kentucky; Linda (Ted) McGray, Yarmouth; grandchildren Dawn Harris, Kim Cook, Tim and Meighan Clayton; 6 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by son Timothy and brother George. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 2-4 pm. from the Sweeny’ Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial Service will be Monday, February 18,2019 at 2 pm also from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. A.D Bill Newell officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund, Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia or the Town and County Sports Heritage Association.
