Peacefully and surrounded by family at his home on Sunday February 10th 2019, in his 91st year. Simon, beloved husband of the Late Lila. Devoted father of Charlene Haley (Mark), Valerie Mihailiuk (Dawn Thexton), and Kevin Mack Janette Dede). Cherished grandfather of Garett, Shawn, Shannon, Alyssa, Andrei, Mindy, and Denver. Adored great-grandfather of Silas, Freya, and Grace. Simon was a proud son of Ukrainian immigrants, and a lover and player of music. He always had a big hug for everyone, and a lovely smile. He was a great carpenter, and could fix anything. Simon will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Family and friends will be received at Lakeland Funeral & Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, on Saturday February 23rd from 11am until time of Memorial service at 1pm. A reception will follow. In memory of Simon, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
